The St. Hilary Family Spirituality Committee Presents:
Jesse Tree Ornament Exchange
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 2019
12:00 – 2:30 P.M.
What is the Jesse Tree:
Isaish 11:1 says “But a shoot shall sprout from the stump of Jesse, and from his roots a bud shall blossom.” This sprout is Jesus. The Jesse Tree, then, is an ancient custom which celebrates people and events leading up to the birth of Christ. Each day from December 1-24 an ornament is placed on the tree which represent a significant moment in salvation history.
What is the Jesse Tree Ornament Exchange?
Each household involved makes 25 of the same ornament corresponding to one of the days on the calendar. Relevant scriptures and prayer suggestions will be provided for each day, so no need to worry about coming up with your own.
