Dear St. Hilary Parishioners,
We are excited to announce a great parish mission coming to St. Hilary. On March 2, at 7 p.m. in the church, a presentation will be given by nationally known speaker, John R. Wood, with music by singer/song writer Rachel Ann. All are welcome to attend. John is the author of the bestselling Dynamic Catholic book, Ordinary Lives, Extraordinary Mission. Since the book was released in 2012 it has sold more than 240,000 copies and John has spoken at more than 100 parishes and schools across the country. John will be challenging all of us to have a life changing experience by helping us rediscover our great mission to be saints in the middle of our ordinary lives.
We strongly encourage everyone to attend this event and take advantage of this opportunity. John is a 40 year old eye doctor from Ohio. He and his wife Kristin are the parents of four children, with one on the way. John works in nursing homes and tells stories about how his patients have inspired him in the later years of their lives through their powerful prayers and witness. John is also very active in reaching out to young parents his own age, as he wants to inspire them to live their faith and share it with their children. He has many practical ideas for parents who are so busy and distracted. He will teach you how Catholicism is simply the best way to live and it will make us better at everything we do. It is the greatest gift we can pass on to our children. John’s message about the universal call to holiness applies to every generation. Whether you are 9 or 99 or anywhere in between, NOW is your time and this message is for you!
This is going to be a parish mission unlike anything you have ever experienced. John will be joined by singer/song writer Rachel Ann who shares her amazing gift of music to make the message heard and felt not only in our minds but in our souls. Her music is powerful. The most common thing people say when they leave The Extraordinary Mission events is “I wish so and so was here to hear this message.” Don’t be that person. Right now, think of somebody in your life who needs to rediscover the love of God the Father. Think of somebody who has strayed from the faith. Think of somebody who has lost their mission, meaning, or purpose to their life. Call them and invite them to join you. Ask them to join you. You never know how the Holy Spirit will touch their lives through this great message.
New York Times Bestselling author Matthew Kelly says, “I believe John is one of the great emerging Catholic voices of our time…John Wood has a passion that is contagious. Read his book…and make an effort to go and hear him speak!”
Please plan to attend! You don’t want to miss this!
See you there! Fr. Steve
